30th Annual May Day Trauma Conference

30th Annual May Day Trauma Conference is organized by UNC Tar Heel Trauma Program and will be held from May 01 - 02, 2019 at William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States of America.

Target Audience:
All clinicians who interact with severely injured patients across the continuum of trauma care will benefit from this conference. These include medical administrators, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, paramedics, first responders, and emergency managers. Physicians and advanced practice providers, especially medical directors, emergency medicine, critical care, and surgeons, will also benefit from this event.

Physicians:The School of Medicine of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The School of Medicine of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Other health professionals will receive a certificate of attendance from an AMA PRA Category 1™ activity. These certificates are accepted by the NC Boards for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists. Other health care providers may also be able to use these certificates, depending on their particular license requirements. (License requirements are subject to change. Nurses: AMA PRA Category 1™ will be accepted as Nursing CE’s for the NC Board of Nursing and UNC Trauma Hours.

Pre-hospital Personnel: Continuing education credit may be granted for the following North Carolina EMS credential levels: EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic. Participants of the "30th Annual" May Day Trauma Conference may be awarded a maximum of 12.5 hours of continuing education credit.

Respiratory Therapists: A maximum of 12.5 CE Hours has been approved by the NC Respiratory Care Board for Respiratory Therapists (approval number 185455).

Conference Description:
May Day is a two-day conference carefully designed to meet the educational needs of the health care team across the continuum of trauma care.

Our conference follows the trauma continuum of care with the first day featuring topics on disaster preparedness pre-hospital care, emergency medicine while the second day covers critical care, acute care, and rehabilitation. The agenda for each day combines general and three breakout tracks to allow you to further tailor your experience to best meet your needs.

In addition, the conference also features other attractions such as a vendor exhibition, poster presentations, daily giveaways and a silent auction to benefit the Trauma Survivor's Network.

The May Day Conference is a wonderful opportunity to learn, network, and have fun.
