Dr. Dixon is the Interventional Radiology Program Director and a Clinical Professor in the department of Radiology. He completed his fellowship in Vascular-Interventional Radiology at UNC in 2004 and his residency in Radiology at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse in 2003. His areas of interest include complex IVC filter removals, endoleak repairs, oncologic interventions, hepatobiliary interventions, venous interventions, medical education, global health and radiation safety. Dr. Dixon served as the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director from 2011 until 2015, when he became the Interventional Radiology Residency Program Director. In addition to speaking on radiation safety and other interventional radiology topics nationally, he serves on the RSNA Education Committee, the Image Wisely Committee, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Interventional Radiology, the American Journal of Radiology and Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.
