Developing Medical Educators of the 21st Century

Developing Medical Educators of the 21st Century is organized by The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Office of Continuing Medical Education and will be held during Feb 26 - 28, 2018 at Holiday Inn - Golden Gateway, San Francisco, California, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is faculty and administrators involved in medical education across the continuum (medical students, graduate medical education and continuing education) and targets both junior faculty who are early in their career as well as more senior faculty and those in leadership positions. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 22.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Overview :
This three-day intensive course is for medical educators from undergraduate and graduate medical education who seek to develop or augment skills in teaching and educational program design. Participants will learn about emerging trends and will develop skills in clinical teaching and curricular innovation design and implementation to address contemporary issues in healthcare. Flexible programming allows participants to select sessions aligned with their interest and experience level, including topics such as teaching clinical reasoning, creating equitable and inclusive learning environments, designing workplace learning experiences that add value to the health system, creating new models of faculty development, partnering with health systems to advance quality and safety, choosing and using educational technology, coaching for professional identity formation, optimizing assessment, and studying your curricular innovations.

Objectives :
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
• Describe emerging trends in medical education;
• Adapt strategies for curricular innovation to address curricular needs at their own institution and/or program;
• Apply innovative teaching methods to both clinical and foundational science teaching.
