Dr. Sally K. Miller earned her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing from Rutgers University in New Jersey, and her PhD. in education from Walden University. She has 27 years of nursing experience, 24 of them as a nurse practitioner with multiple specialty certifications including family practice, adult-gerontology primary care, and adult-gerontology acute care. Dr. Miller has been taught nursing and nurse practitioner students since 1995 and developed one of the first acute care nurse practitioner programs in the country at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Since then she has been active in baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral level nursing education with a particular focus on advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, and clinical assessment and management content. Dr. Miller is active nationally in nurse practitioner continuing education and certification preparation.

Dr. Miller is a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a regular presenter during national nurse practitioner conferences across the country. She has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals on a variety of clinical and research topics. Her clinical experience includes decades of experience across the lifespan in the inpatient and outpatient settings, correctional health, assisted-living and long-term care, and rural health. Dr. Miller has served on numerous advisory panels and editorial boards and is a site team member for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
