This presentation focuses on the practical application of pharmacotherapy for depression in primary care. How to differentiate among SSRIs, and what to do when SSRIs are inadequate or contraindicated. Decisioning pharmacotherapy in the primary care setting and determining when it is appropriate to refer provides a foundation for best practices for the primary care provider.
Learning Objectives:
After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
- Differentiate unique elements among SSRIs
- Analyze next level medication choices for treatment of depression
- Compare and contrast single vs. combination therapies in case presentation
