This presentation analyzes the most current guidelines for the management of dyslipidemia for both a primary prevention and for risk reduction in the patient who has already had a coronary artery event. Evaluation of the mechanisms of action of the newest lipid-lowering agents is presented in setting of clinical relevant case studies to provide.
Learning Objectives:
After taking part in this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
- Analyze newest guideline recommendations for the treatment of dyslipidemia
- Compare and contrast pharmacotherapeutic options for the very high-risk patient
- Apply treatment guidelines to both average and very high-risk patient
