Dr. Daniel Weintraub is a board-certified geriatric psychiatrist whose clinical research focuses on the psychiatric and cognitive symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). He received a National Institute of Mental Health's Career Development Award titled "Depression Diagnosis and Treatment in Parkinson Disease," has been principal or co-investigator on grants from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, the Institute of Aging at the University of Pennsylvania, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, the Movement Disorders Society and several industry-sponsored studies. Dr. Weintraub and is also clinical core leader of the University of Pennsylvania Udall Center for Parkinson's Disease and Dementia.

His research focuses on the epidemiology, neural substrates, assessments and treatments of depression, psychosis, cognitive impairment and impulse control disorders in PD. Dr. Weintraub is associate editor of the journal Movement Disorders, and is on the Movement Disorder Society Rating Scales Review Committee and the Steering Committee of the Non-Motor PD Study Group. He is also chair of the Cognitive-Behavioral Work Group and member of the Steering Committee for the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative study.
