Description:
This presentation will look at the functional application of using core vocabulary and core language board systems (low tech and dynamic displays) as a foundational design for early language acquisition in the area of receptive and expressive language. We also explore the use of core language boards to support social emotional learning, as well as behavioral management. This presentation will focus on classroom/group application; however, techniques for individual client/student application will also be discussed. Instructional Level (Introductory)

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

Identify core vocabulary and core language boards
Summarize how access to visual language lays the foundation for social and emotional growth
Identify an instruction setting with core communication as the foundation
Analyze individual therapy activities for working with individual clients/students
List different options for generalization in all settings.

ACCREDITATION & CREDITS

This is a 3-contact hour course equivalent to 0.3 CEUs offered as a live webinar. Instructors present this course content via an internet website displaying real time power points. Learners will receive a PDF of the course materials before the event. Instructors lecture through a phone conference call connection or your computer if you have audio capability on your computer.
