42nd Argentine Congress of Pediatrics is organized by Argentine Society of Pediatrics / Sociedad Argentina de Pediatria (SAP) and will be held from Sep 13 - 15, 2025 at Hotel NH Gran Hotel Provincial, Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Description:
With our motto "Growing Together," we seek to highlight the professional and personal growth we share with our patients and their families, as well as the growth generated through interaction with our colleagues.
We know how enriching it is to meet face-to-face to reflect, discuss, and share knowledge that enhances our professional knowledge and can be used to improve patient care. This opportunity becomes even more valuable after the isolation imposed by the pandemic, which has shown us how necessary personal interaction is.
We also understand the time and financial commitment required for a meeting of this magnitude. That's why our goal is to offer a meeting that fosters active exchange, something that is more difficult to achieve through virtual means, which are so accessible today.
That's why we've designed the Congress program so that most sessions offer the opportunity to interact with the speakers through workshops, interactive sessions, dialogues with and among experts, and allow time for questions and comments from attendees.
The Scientific Committee is developing a program that includes an update on prevalent health problems, as well as the different areas in which pediatrics can prevent both childhood and adult conditions. Among the topics to be discussed are care during the first 1,000 days, new vaccines, microbiota care, and the prevention of toxic stress, as well as the rapidly changing world that affects our work.
Some of the thematic axes will include the effects of climate change on children's physical and psychological health, the growing presence of artificial intelligence in different pediatric settings and its implications, the lasting effects of the pandemic, and the challenge of practicing our profession in a context of rising child poverty. These issues will be addressed in transdisciplinary roundtables for a broader and more in-depth analysis.
There will also be a space to discuss the current professional situation and the future of pediatrics in our country, with a special invitation to younger pediatricians and those in training to actively participate through the presentation of free papers and dedicated sessions.
Prior to the start of the Congress, we will hold workshops for the community on topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, family-centered care for children with developmental disabilities, and prevention of problematic substance use in children and adolescents, among others. These workshops reflect the importance of integrating pediatrics into society.
At this challenging time for pediatrics, our country, and the planet, we hope the Congress will be a rich opportunity for meeting and sharing, providing us with encouragement, new concepts, and tools to continue working for healthy childhood and adolescence in a better world.
