Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 21.25 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Course Description:
This forty-seventh annual course is designed to provide the practitioner with state-of-the-art information regarding the pathogenesis and treatment of a variety of disease states. Recognized guest lecturers and members of our own faculty will give sharply focused clinically oriented talks on a range of topics.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the course participants should be able to:
• Review current concepts regarding the epidemic of CKD of unknown etiology, the nature of acid-base disorders in patients with CKD, the use of incremental dialysis, and frontiers in dialysis care. 
• Discuss the systemic effects of acute kidney injury and the utilization of social media in the field of nephrology. 
• Outline the new treatments available for autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, and the manner whereby to identify those patients with ADPKD who are at high risk for progressing to ESRD.
• Describe advances in treatments to slow progression of CKD, the use of hypoxia inducible factor (HIF) stabilizers in treating the anemia of CKD/ESRD, and the impact of the 2019 Executive Order on Advancing American Kidney Health.
• Summarize the results of key literature articles of the past year in the areas of acute kidney injury, glomerulonephritis, CKD and dialysis, and transplantation and be prepared to implement this knowledge in clinical practice.
