EMBO | EMBL Symposium: Multiomics to Mechanisms - Challenges in Data Integration is organized by European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) and will be held from Sep 11 - 13, 2019 at EMBL Advance Training Centre, Heidelberg, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.
Symposium Overview :
The current speed at which high-throughput data are produced and the growing number of studies that use not only one but multiple omics technologies on the same samples offers tremendous opportunities for enhancing our molecular understanding of biological systems. One of the biggest challenges in the era of multiomics is the integration and interpretation of the diverse large-scale omics data in a way that provides biological insights. This requires the development of statistical, mathematical, and computational tools and equally important, experimental strategies to follow up on hypotheses generated by large-scale data. Together, these computational and experimental tools will enable us to address novel questions and identify biological mechanisms.
This conference will provide a platform for bringing together leading researchers from computational biology, various omics fields and technology development to present their latest work and discuss applications, future ideas and the challenges for integrating large-scale biological data across different biological technologies and disciplines. A specific focus will be to discuss data integration of high-throughput technologies with molecular biology approaches. This conference aims to inspire novel ideas for data integration across the different omics fields and hence may sparkle exciting new future collaborations.
Session Topics :
• Novel high throughput technologies
• Statistical tools for data integration
• Omics and structural biology
• Multiomics - focus genomics
• Multiomics - focus metabolomics
• Multiomics - focus proteomics
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
