OVERVIEW
Learning From CHIP Complications: How to Be a Better Interventionalist is organized by CardioVascular Research Foundation (CRF) and will be held from Aug 10 - 11, 2018 at Grand Hyatt Seattle, Seattle, Washington, United States of America. The target audience for this medical event is practicing US and Canadian interventional cardiologists and clinical cardiologists involved in the management of all patients with coronary artery disease.
Course Description:
This program is geared to all interventionalists seeking to improve their ability to manage any complications related to the percutaneous coronary intervention. Participants will learn algorithms and management strategies to manage acute closure and sudden hemodynamic collapse. They will be able to better treat coronary perforation, atherectomy complications, and coronary gear entrapment. Plus, they will gain insight through demonstration and discussion of vascular access issues of radial, femoral, transcaval, and perc axillary.
Expert faculty will use their combined experience to describe options to manage the most challenging complications and to help build systems that allow operators to have less fear over unintended, challenging events. Participants will move through simulations of CTO, atherectomy, snaring, deployment of coronary and peripheral covered stents, use of coils, and ancillary imaging. Participants are encouraged to bring cases for review at the dinner. The goal is that thorough discussion of complications attendees will feel more comfortable treating more complex coronary anatomy and high-risk patients.
Course Objectives:
• Manage a wide variety of coronary perforations in multiple clinical situations.
• Handle a multitude of vascular access complications.
• Possess treatment strategies for atherectomy complications.
• Understand risk mitigation and build support networks to manage more challenging technical and clinical patients.
