Dr. Pinto received his B.A., cum Laude, from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, and M.D. degree from the Georgetown University, cum Laude and Alpha Omega Alpha. He was an Intern, Resident, Chief Resident, General Cardiology Fellow and Interventional Cardiology Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA. Dr. Pinto is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and serves as the Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Associate Chief of the Interventional Section. He has advanced training in biostatistics as part of the clinical effectiveness program at the Harvard School of Public Health.

He was the Director of the General Cardiology Fellowship Program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for 10 years. He has been awarded cardiology fellow teaching and mentorship awards from Harvard Medical School. Currently, he is the Governor of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.

He serves on the scientific sessions planning committee for the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention. As an acknowledged technical operator, he performs complex PCI, CTO, and TAVR and has been invited to Egypt, China, and Vietnam to do complex coronary and peripheral cases. He is a US proctor for the Evolut-R Transcatheter Aortic Valve.
