Mitul Piyush Patel MD, FACC, FSCAI

Mitul Patel, MD, is a board-certified interventional cardiologist. Interventional cardiology involves opening blocked blood vessels with minimally invasive catheter procedures. Dr. Patel treats people with acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), coronary artery disease, heart valve disease, peripheral vascular disease, and other heart conditions. He has extensive experience with the insertion of ventricular assist devices to support both complex coronary interventions and to treat cardiogenic shock.

Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed his internal medicine residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine and completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. Dr. Patel is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is board certified in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine.

Dr. Patel’s clinical expertise also includes aortic valve replacement, radial (wrist) artery approaches to coronary angiography, and percutaneous (nonsurgical) treatment of peripheral vascular disease and structural heart disease.
