OVERVIEW

Hospital Medicine Update: A Full Systems Review is organized by HealthPartners Institute and will be held from Oct 04 - 05, 2018 at Midland Hills Country Club, Roseville, Minnesota, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is practicing hospitalists, physician assistants and nurse practitioners with the latest, evidence-based information in the management of the hospitalized patient. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 14.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Conference Overview:
Increased specialization and rapid advances in hospital medicine make it difficult for clinicians who provide inpatient care to stay updated on new procedures, treatments, and medication protocols. Hospital Medicine Update: A Full System Review will provide updates on the latest evidence-based guidelines and best strategies for diagnosing and treating conditions such as diabetes, perioperative opioids, stroke, dermatology, pneumonia, antibiotics, anticoagulation, immunodeficiency, global health and much more.

Highlights of the conference include pediatric and adult breakout sessions, practice management sessions, emerging innovations, customized learning, practical pearls and a poster competition. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend a Breakfast with the Expert and Lunch-and-Learn sessions. Time for questions and direct interaction with faculty will be provided.

To supplement the knowledge gained at this conference, participants can consider also attending the 2-day Society of Hospital Medicine Minnesota Chapter Point-of-Care Ultrasound Course at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 6–7, 2018.

Educational Objectives:
Following this learning activity, participants will be able to:
• Describe the most recent advances in hospital medicine
• Recognize symptoms that require consultation with a specialist in critically ill or complex hospitalized patients
• Apply strategies for diagnosing and managing inpatient conditions
• Use treatment protocols to provide cost-effective and safe use of medications
