Dr. Andrew Olson is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics and is an Academic Hospitalist at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Amplatz Children’s Hospital. He is also the Course Director for the Advanced Physical Diagnosis elective course for medical students and is an instructor in the Ultrasound for Medicine Course. He attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, majoring in Chemistry and Biology and is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine.
He completed an Internship in Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and a residency in Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota where he was selected by his peers as the Best Teacher in both the Medicine and Pediatrics Residency Programs. Dr. Olson was a Chief Resident at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. His interests include medical decision making and cognitive errors in medicine, physical examination instruction and research, point-of-care ultrasonography, and systematic reviews of diagnostic testing.
