Dr. Wilson is a pain fellowship trained anesthesiologist specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and management of pain and painful disability. He has been practicing in pain management over ten years in the San Diego area and is a recognized specialty reviewer for group health and workers’ compensation carriers. He is a national CME course instructor on spinal injection techniques and spinal cord stimulation. Dr. Wilson serves locally as a volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology for the UCSD Pain Program. Additionally, he lectures to industrial medicine and managed care organizations on a range of topics including the cost-effective treatment of pain and managing difficult cases of painful disability. Dr. Wilson is a Diplomate to the American Boards of Anesthesiology with added qualifications in pain management, American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Pain Management, International Spinal Injection Society, and the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Wilson earned his medical degree from Stanford University and completed an Internal Medicine internship at the Los Angeles County Harbor/UCLA Medical Center. He pursued an anesthesiology residency at Stanford University and received his pain fellowship training at the Pain Consortium of Greater Kansas. Dr. Wilson is a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the State of California. Prior to medicine, Dr. Wilson earned a bachelors of aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachussetts Institute of Technology and a masters degree in bioengineering from Stanford University.
