Radiofrequency Bio-Skills Lab is organized by Spine Intervention Society (SIS) and will be held during Jan 12 - 14, 2018 at Phoenix Marriott Tempe At The Buttes, Phoenix, Arizona, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is designed for physicians who perform spine intervention procedures. Spine Intervention Society members who are board-certified or in the examination process for certification in the following specialties: Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Radiology, Neurology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Neurosurgery. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description:
This 16-hour radiofrequency procedures course has been developed using a systematic evidence-based approach and is designed to address professional practice gaps. Our courses are highly structured and utilize experienced instructors from multiple disciplines who provide 8.5 hours of hands-on lab instruction, 6.5 hours of lecture and breakout sessions, and 1 hour of time dedicated to discussion between instructors and attendees.
Radiofrequency is a treatment option that has the potential to positively affect your patients’ well-being. This course is designed to teach you how to correlate imaging with the anatomy of the innervation of the zygapophysial joints; identify principles of radiofrequency lesioning; assess symptomology and interpret results of medial branch blocks to optimally select patients; and apply evidence-based knowledge to performance of radiofrequency neurotomy.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Analyze the imaging depiction of the relevant anatomy;
• Relate patient history and physical exam findings with imaging to achieve a likely diagnosis of the spinal pathology causing the patient’s pain or dysfunction;
• Describe the literature support for the efficacy of the procedures;
• Identify the risks and benefits of each procedure, as well as assessment, prevention, and treatment of potential complications;
• Apply technically correct performance of the spinal procedures using safe fluoroscopic guidance with minimal tissue injury or discomfort.
