OVERVIEW

Radiofrequency Bio-Skills Lab is organized by International Spine Intervention Societyand would be held during Jan 13 - 15, 2017 at Westin Long Beach, Long Beach, California, United States of America. The target audience for this medical event is basically for Spine Intervention Society members who are board-certified or in the examination process for certification in the following specialties: Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Radiology, Neurology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Neurosurgery. Members who are not board-certified or eligible in these specialties must have completed or be currently enrolled in an ACGME Pain Fellowship and begin at the lumbar level. This cme conference has been approved with credits.

Radiofrequency is a treatment option that has the potential to positively affect your patients’ well-being. This course is designed to teach you how to correlate imaging with the anatomy of the innervation of the zygapophysial joints; identify principles of radiofrequency lesioning; assess symptomology and interpret results of medial branch blocks to optimally select patients; and apply evidence-based knowledge to performance of radiofrequency neurotomy.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Analyze the imaging depiction of the relevant anatomy;
• Relate patient history and physical exam findings with imaging to achieve a likely diagnosis of the spinal pathology causing the patient’s pain or dysfunction;
• Describe the literature support for the efficacy of the procedures;
• Identify the risks and benefits of each procedure, as well as assessment, prevention, and treatment of potential complications;
• Apply technically correct performance of the spinal procedures using safe fluoroscopic guidance with minimal tissue injury or discomfort.
