Dr. Jon A. Jacobson is a nationally recognized, board-certified musculoskeletal radiologist with extensive expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. He practices at Lenox Hill Radiology in New York City and also holds academic appointments, including Clinical Professor of Radiology.

Dr. Jacobson earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He subsequently completed a musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. Following his training, he spent more than two decades on the faculty at the University of Michigan, where he served as Division Director and Professor of Radiology and Director of the Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology. He has also held faculty roles at the University of Cincinnati.

An acknowledged leader in education and clinical practice, Dr. Jacobson’s academic achievements include authoring the textbook Fundamentals of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and publishing well over 250 peer-reviewed articles. He has delivered hundreds of invited national and international lectures and workshops and has served as a visiting professor on numerous occasions.

Dr. Jacobson’s contributions to radiology have been recognized with multiple accolades, including the 2023 Distinguished Educator Award from the American Roentgen Ray Society. He has been active in professional societies, including leadership roles with the Society of Skeletal Radiology, and has received numerous teaching and mentoring awards throughout his career.
