Joel C. Diamant MD, FACP

As an internal medicine specialist, Joel Diamant, MD, diagnoses, and treats all types of diseases and medical conditions in adults, with expertise in health promotion. In addition to his clinical practice, he has a research focus on the impact of various interventions on the quality of medical education and genomic implications of staphylococcal infection (staph infection). He is also a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Diamant believes the best patient care occurs in a setting that emphasizes clinical education for the patient as well as educating young physicians in aspects of disease manifestations, prevention strategies, and the most effective treatments. As director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital since 1988, Dr. Diamant is responsible for the oversight of medical education for a large number of new physicians each year.

He also serves as the executive vice president of Scripps Clinic Medical Group, assisting the organization as a whole in providing the highest quality medical care to our community. Dr. Diamant also leads a team of Scripps Clinic staff physicians and residents in regularly staffing St. Leo’s Mission Medical Clinic and the St. Vincent DePaul medical clinics.
