Dr. Janet Reid is a Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania with a clinical interest in body MRI and oncologic imaging at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is also the Director of Radiology Education Research at CHOP, where her team evaluates current learning strategies, identifies gaps, and develops innovative solutions housed in a multifaceted Learning Management System (LMS). Previously at the Cleveland Clinic, she created a pediatric radiology educational website with more than 35,000 registrants from 75 countries worldwide.

She received her Medical Degree from Queen’s University in Canada and completed a Family Practice residency at Health Sciences Centre and a Diagnostic Radiology residency at Victoria Hospital of the University of Western Ontario, where she was Chief Resident. She additionally completed a Pediatric Radiology Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Reid holds dual board certification in Pediatric Radiology and Radiology.

Dr. Reid is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American Board of Radiology, Children’s Oncology Group, Society for Pediatric Radiology, American College of Radiology, American Association of Pediatrics and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Dr. Reid serves as a reviewer for Pediatric Radiology, American Journal of Roentgenology, Journal of Imaging Science, and Pediatric Emergency Care, as well as an Editorial Board Member for Pediatric Radiology. She has been invited to give over 100 lectures both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Reid has published many papers, reviews, and editorials in journals, such as Pediatric Radiology, Skeletal Radiology, American Journal of Radiology, Academic Radiology, and Journal of Roentgenology. She is additionally an author of over 100 abstracts presented at conferences, such as the Radiological Society of North America, the Society for Pediatric Radiology, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Society of Neuroimaging annual meetings. She is lead Investigator for “RADIAL- an adaptive learning management system for radiology”, co-investigator for “Intelligent Tutor”, a recommender algorithm for push notification to augment image interpretation ($50K Penn Health Tech grant), and co-investigator for “High Fidelity Video Based Pediatric MRI Tutorials in Under 10 Minutes: Imaging, Troubleshooting, and Value-Added Reporting”($10K Jaramillo departmental grant).
