Dr. Anca M. Barbu, MD, FACS, is a board-certified Otolaryngologist and Head & Neck Surgeon specializing in laryngology, voice disorders, and airway surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. She is fellowship-trained in Laryngeal Surgery and care of the professional voice, having completed advanced clinical training at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was one of only a few surgeons selected to practice alongside leaders in the field.
Dr. Barbu also served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School as Assistant Professor and Instructor of Surgery, teaching medical students and surgical trainees while contributing to research and clinical innovation in voice and airway disorders. A native of Los Angeles, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and her MD from Drexel University College of Medicine, followed by residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland.
Dr. Barbu is a published author on surgical and clinical approaches to voice disorders, a frequent invited speaker at national and international meetings, and an active member of professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons (FACS), American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, and other specialty societies. She maintains a clinical practice focused on diagnosing and treating laryngeal cancer, vocal cord paralysis, recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, and other complex disorders of the voice and airway.
