Alberto Javier Espay, MD, MSc, serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Cincinnati and as Director of Clinical Research at the James J. and Joan A. Gardner Family Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders. He is also a neurologist at the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute. He completed the graduate program in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research and an electrophysiology fellowship, both at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with special competence in adult neurology. The recipient of several research awards to study Parkinson’s disease, he has directed investigations on neuroimaging biomarkers as well as strategies for managing the disease.
