3rd annual: Shaping the Management of Parkinsons Disease: A Comprehensive Review of Discoveries and Clinical Trials

Timely and effective treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD) can enhance patients' ability to continue to work and manage their day-to-day lives. Yet, despite the development of new therapeutic options over the past few decades and the possibility that some of them may have disease-modifying effects, the management of PD remains a challenge for specialists as well as primary care physicians. Misdiagnosis in the early stages and uncertainties about timing of treatment are among the difficulties facing clinicians. New nonpharmacologic approaches such as deep brain stimulation and other therapies on the horizon present new hope for patients as well as new educational challenges for physicians. This educational activity will address these challenges, with clarification of recent study results and insights into the rational use of newer treatment approaches.
