Medical Studies Abroad

Medical Studies Abroad was started by Dr. David Nelson, a practicing anesthesiologist in Austin, Texas. He has many patients who are only able to communicate in Spanish and although he had studied the Spanish language for several years, he found it difficult to add in class time after a busy day in the OR. He began Medical Studies Abroad with the idea that he and other healthcare professionals would benefit from the combination of learning Spanish designed specifically for them while enjoying a beautiful destination location that affords an immersion experience and the added benefit of earning Continuing Medical Education credits for their efforts.
