The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) was established January 26, 1927.
The American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) history began during an AOA conference in Louisville, KY, when a small group of surgeons opted to share a mission to set high education standards and provide continuing medical education to osteopathic surgeons.
Mission:
The ACOS is committed to promoting excellence in osteopathic surgical care through education, advocacy, leadership development, and the fostering of professional and personal relationships.
Vision:
To be the primary organizational home for all osteopathic surgeons while providing valuable resources, education, and uniting a strong community base that helps our members deliver the highest quality care to their patients.
