Module 3: Surgical Practice In The Times Of Covid-19 is organized by American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS).

Session description:
This session will review the data on postoperative outcomes of unexpected COVID-19-infected patients undergoing surgery and the case for testing patients prior to elective surgery.  It will also review the American College of Surgeons' post-COVID-19 guidelines for resuming surgery, including patient-surgeon discussions, facilities, and surgery-specific items.  In addition, examples of the process of implementation of these recommendations at a tertiary hospital will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of the session, the participants should be able to:
• Understand the basis for recommendations to resume practice
• Review the American College of Surgeons Post-COVID-19 Readiness checklist for Resuming surgery
• Provide an overview of the implementation of these guidelines at a tertiary care center
