Activity Description:
This self-guided course provides practical recommendations and guidance on what hematology/oncology practices can do to improve patient experience and outcomes before their patient reaches a transplant center for consultation for Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT).

Educational Objectives:
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Summarize tactics and resources for community hematology/oncology practices to successfully introduce transplant and cell therapy options to patients.
  • Recommend early HLA typing and coordinated care to address barriers and delays to transplant.
  • Review resources for insurance coverage, funding options, transportation, and caregiver solutions.
  • Recommend use of transplant consultation timing guidelines.
