Overview of Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) is organized by VCU Health Continuing Education.

Description:
This continuing education (CE) program will satisfy the 2023 VA BOP requirement to obtain at least two (2) hours of CE regarding medications for opioid use disorder (OUD). Participants will first receive background regarding the opioid epidemic and signs and symptoms of opioid withdrawal before taking a deep dive into treatment strategies for OUD. During this deep dive, different medication options, including their various dosage forms and adverse effects, will be reviewed. Participants will be provided tips for preventing medication errors when dispensing these products. Finally, patient cases will be utilized for participants to select the best treatment regimen.

In support of improving patient care, VCU Health Continuing Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
This activity provides 2 contact hours (2.0 CEUs) of continuing education credit.
