What is the significance of Meningococcal disease update: What the clinician needs to know about vaccination against MenB?

Course Description:
The goal of this session is to develop an understanding of both the burden and prevention of invasive meningococcal disease caused by serogroup B (MenB) by sharing newly available data, real-world experiences and clinical perspectives related to the disease. In doing so, the program will drive meningococcal disease awareness and facilitate decisions around MenB immunization to ultimately ensure that Canadians at risk of IMD are protected.

 Key Learning Outcomes:
• Attain a clinical perspective on meningococcal disease burden and prevention, addressing disease epidemiology, disease significance, and severity.
• Highlight the expanding body of scientific evidence supporting MenB vaccination e.g. real-world experience, dosing schedules, persistence data, immunogenicity data spanning the age cohorts at risk of disease.
• Specify MenB vaccination, where it can fit into the routine childhood vaccination schedule, and how to address questions/objections from parents.
