Course Overview:
Minimal residual disease (MRD, sometimes also called measurable residual disease) has emerged as a vital marker for measuring recurrence and improved response rates in numerous hematological malignancies. MRD-based quantification of remaining diseased cells after treatment has been completed, has in recent years been incorporated into many phase 3 clinical trials across hematologic malignancies as an endpoint for regulatory approval. Moreover, until recently, precise and accurate technology for measuring and defining MRD-negative status has lagged behind the development of treatments that have been effective in achieving that status. Thus, with the evolving clinical data pool surrounding the quantification of MRD in MM, healthcare professionals who treat patients with hematologic malignancies require targeted education to ensure a thorough understanding of the benefits of setting MRD negativity as a trial endpoint and treatment goal.
This on-demand web archive is initiated to address such MRD-related knowledge and practice gaps among physicians, NPs, and PAs who manage patients with hematologic malignancies as well as to increased their awareness of the tools available to quantify it.

• Articulate the rationale for using MRD negativity as a new outcomes goal of treatment as well as an endpoint for clinical trials in MM
• Differentiate NGS and next-generation flow cytometry (NGF) from earlier-generation tests
