This educational program is directed toward the ASCO Annual Meeting audience, including medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and surgical oncologists. Activity Overview:
In the management ovarian cancer following prior platinum-based chemotherapy, poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors have an important role in reducing the risk of recurrence. Understanding the approved uses of these agents in the frontline maintenance setting and later-line settings is crucial to implementing evidence-based use of these treatments. Recognizing the mechanistic characteristics of these treatments, their appropriate use across patient subgroups, and ongoing trials help inform clinical practice.
