Description:
This presentation provides an early path to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. Both low and high technology options are addressed, as well as the skills and strategies needed to effectively engage early communicators in these platforms. The presentation is dynamic, including videos and audience participation activities. Course instruction method includes: Lecture, Videos, Group Discussion, and Question/Answers.(for live courses as Lab experience)

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

List a minimum of three AAC low and mid technology systems or options
Summarize prerequisite skills needed for AAC users
Apply principles of early AAC during client participation in play and educational activities.

ACCREDITATION & CREDITS

This is a 3-hour course equivalent to 3 CEU’s or 0.3 CEUs offered as a live webinar or self-study.

SLP Credit: This course is offered for 0.2 ASHA CEUs (Introductory level).
