Conference Overview:
This one-day, multi-disciplinary educational conference presented by the Scripps Clinic Department of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, is structured as a practical, clinically oriented review of various maternal and fetal prenatal diagnoses, as well as ultrasound-related high-yield topics. Our inaugural CME conference will discuss advances and updates in the clinical management of high-risk pregnancies using didactic lectures and interactive discussions led by highly qualified, experienced faculty certified by their respective specialities. The goal of this conference is to provide practical and evidence-based practice recommendations to improve the health of high-risk pregnant women and their babies.

Educational Objectives:
After attending this live activity, participants should be able to:
• Recognize, manage and treat selected maternal medical complications of pregnancy including pulmonary embolism, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, using evidence-based guidelines.
• Develop multi-disciplinary treatment plans for the management of obstetrical emergencies including amniotic fluid embolism, sepsis, and critically ill pregnant patients.
• Appropriately identify and interpret fetal heart rate patterns.
• Discuss practical tips when approaching obstetrical ultrasound.
• Incorporate prenatal genetic testing and devise an optimal approach to the evaluation of a fetus with a congenital heart defect.
• Describe disparities in mental health outcomes in pregnancy.
• Improve communication and engagement among healthcare providers to ensure that care is responsive to women’s needs.
