OVERVIEW

# 359 Exploring the Fascial System's Role in Improving Posture, Movement is organized by MotivationsCEU and will be held from Oct 23 - 24, 2026 at Springboard Pediatric Therapy, Whippany, New Jersey, United States of America.

Description:
The workshop will primarily focus on hands-on treatment techniques, employing methods like MFR (Myofascial Release) and/or IASTM (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), to address musculoskeletal issues prerequisite for facilitating improved movement. Through this course, participants will refine their clinical decision making abilities by formulating and testing hypotheses regarding critical impairments encountered when working with individuals diagnosed with multiple system impairments such as cerebral palsy, stroke, congenital hypotonicity, and other neuroomotor challenges.

The learning experience will blend didactic sessions with practical laboratory exercises, emphasizing the integration of MFR/IASTM techniques with the NDT (Neuro-Developmental Treatment) framework as the cornerstone for intervention in both pediatric and adult populations with central nervous system dysfunction.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe the function of the fascial system
  2. Identify critical fascial restrictions interfering with motor function related to functional outcomes
  3. Select MFR/IASTM techniques for neurologic impairment(s) and problem solve when to use which technique(s) and why
  4. Demonstrate MFR/IASTM techniques to elongate muscle groups during movement
  5. Apply treatment NDT techniques and strategies to increase mobility and enhance stability via facilitation of movement
  6. Integrate handling strategies learned in lab into daily practice
