AO Trauma NA Course - Osteotomy (Lower Extremity Deformity and Nonunion) is organized by AO North America (AO NA) and will be held from Nov 20 - 22, 2025 at Courtyard Cincinnati Blue Ash and Johnson & Johnson Institute - Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America.

Description:
The course will be delivered using a combination of small group discussions, cases, practical exercises in deformity analysis and correction, and performing osteotomies on anatomical specimens. All activities are moderated by expert faculty in a highly interactive learning environment with a 3:1 participant to faculty ratio. Participants are encouraged to discuss the cases and content in an open manner and to share their own experiences.

Goal of the Course:
The goal of this course is to help participants become comfortable with lower extremity deformity analysis and osteotomy planning.

Surgical techniques will be taught to correctly perform deformity correction in the settings of fracture malunions and nonunions and leg length discrepancy while preserving joint health and addressing bone loss.

• Identify how to correctly evaluate lower extremity deformity
• List the indications for lower extremity deformity correction
• Perform deformity correction techniques to restore extra-articular alignment
• Utilize operative techniques for intra-articular osteotomies
• Recognize strategies for leg lengthening and bone transport
