Dr. David A. Forsh is a distinguished Orthopaedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction Surgeon, board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He serves as an Associate Professor of Orthopedics and Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma for the Mt. Sinai Health System at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and practices at Mount Sinai Hospital (Morningside, West, Queens, and South Nassau).


Specializing in complex fracture care, including pelvic and acetabular reconstruction, nonunions, malunions, and polytrauma, as well as pediatric trauma, Dr. Forsh takes care of some of the most complex regional tertiary trauma. He also maintains a strong commitment to global orthopaedic outreach, having delivered trauma care in Costa Rica, South Africa, and Liberia. Dr. Forsh received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, completed his orthopaedic residency at Mount Sinai Hospital—where he was recognized as a finalist for Resident of the Year—and finished a prestigious orthopaedic trauma fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA, one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in the country.


He has maintained a stellar reputation and is consistently highly rated across major platforms for his compassionate care, clear communication, and surgical expertise. Dr. Forsh has also been a perennial Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2020, an honor based on peer nominations and independent review of professional achievements, leadership, and recognition of clinical excellence in orthopaedic trauma surgery. Dr. Forsh is an active clinical researcher and educator, and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, authored book chapters, and given several national and international presentations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
