NeoHeart: Cardiovascular Management of the Neonate 2019 is organized by Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and will be held from Mar 27 - 29, 2019 at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, Huntington Beach, California, United States of America. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 23.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Target Audience:
This live activity is intended for Physicians who specialize in Pediatric Cardiology, Neonatology, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, OB/GYN, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Neonatal/Maternal-Fetal Fellows, Nurse Practitioners, Fetal Echocardiographers/Sonographers and others who are involved in the cardiovascular management and care of babies in utero or neonatal babies.

Course Description:
Tremendous uncertainty and controversy still exist about best practices for the management of neonates with congenital heart disease and/or hemodynamic instability. The purpose of the NeoHeart Conference is to bring together experts in the fields of neonatology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric intensive care, heart surgery, anesthesiology and nursing to share innovations in caring for the neonatal patient. By working closely together, specialists can optimize the care of these delicate newborns and improve outcomes.

Course Objectives:
At the completion of this conference, attendees will be able to:
• Assess neonatal myocardial performance in different physiologic states.
• Manage the transition from in utero to ex utero life in the extremely premature neonate.
• Manage hypotension in neonates with septic shock.
• Diagnose congenital heart diseases of the right ventricle.
• Assess and treat pulmonary vein stenosis in former premature neonates.
• Develop a plan to optimize nutrition and calories in kids with CHD and/or hemodynamic instability.
• Diagnose and manage pulmonary hypertension in the neonate.
• Refer and, when needed, intervene with lymphatic imaging in chylous ephusions.
• Develop a plan to optimize neurodevelopment outcomes after a brain bleed by selecting appropriate treatment options.
• Create a counseling plan to discuss with families the inpatient and outpatient complexities surrounding CHD.
• Determine who and when to refer for intervention in patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
