OVERVIEW
The North American Housing and HIV Research Summit IX: Structural Interventions and Ending the Epidemic is organized by National Aids Housing Coalition (NAHC) and will be held from Aug 01 - 03, 2018 at Capital Hilton, Washington, Dist of Col, United States of America.
Conference Description:
This Conference provides a unique, interdisciplinary forum where researchers, persons living with HIV (PLWH), policy analysts, service providers, and conference participants from a wide array of backgrounds have an opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions surrounding new research findings that further define the ways housing and other social determinants affect PLWH and international conversations to end the HIV epidemic. Since its inception, the Housing and HIV Research Summit series has served as the premier venue for informing HIV/AIDS housing policy and structural interventions; which creates the space necessary for theory and research to be discussed and translated into policies and action.
Topics of interest include:
• Housing as Healthcare
• Housing as Prevention
• Evidence Strategies and Practical tools for inclusion of social and structural interventions such as housing, employment and food security in plans to end the epidemic
• The “Housing First” model for delivery of housing and related support services.
• Effective age-related interventions, specifically for youth and those 50 and above.
• Care, well-being, and quality of life of people living with HIV and AIDS.
• Wholistic health and viral suppression.
• Connection between social determinants and viral suppression.
• Viral suppression and health care utilization.
• Connection between social determinants and HIV prevention
• Economics and the business case for structural interventions and plans ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
• Development of state and local plans to End the epidemic.
• HIV Undetectable=Untransmittable (U=U):
• HIV-specific housing in the changing world of HIV and housing.
