Dr. Sabriya Linton, PhD, is an assistant professor of mental health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She studies the socio-contextual determinants of substance use, HIV and homelessness. She has served as co-investigator of federally funded studies evaluating place-based determinants of HIV/HCV-related risk behaviors among a multi-city sample of people who inject drugs and the impacts of public housing relocations on substance use, social networks and sexual behaviors among adults in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Linton and her collaborators, Drs. Renee Johnson and Susan Sherman, were recently awarded Bloomberg American Health Initiative funding to explore the magnitude and socio-contextual determinants of adolescent opioid use in Baltimore.
