Nike Blue MPH

Nike Blue, MPH is a Public health professional who serves as the Chief Program Officer with AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc. (AFH) the oldest AIDS service organization in Texas. She has over fourteen years of experience in the non-profit sector including strategic planning, program development and management, board development, implementation of evidence-based practices and public health strategies, non-profit management, research, evaluation, and coaching. She has served in an upper management position for the last ten years at AFH, including the last five years as a part of the executive leadership team. She currently functions as the Chief Program Officer at AFH where she oversees fourteen programs with an annual budget of 4.8 million dollars. As Chief Program Officer, Nike spearheaded the transitioning of three departments into one: housing, prevention, and support services. More recently, she developed AFH’s first PrEP treatment clinic in the span of six weeks.

She has a passion for providing solutions for health and social issues to meet the needs of vulnerable populations: persons living with HIV, incarcerated, at-risk youth, and LGBTQX. While working at AFH she spearheaded the development and implementation of Hip Hop for HIV Awareness a now nationally recognized community-level structural intervention targeting urban at-risk youth. Nike’s leadership and expertise include housing, community planning and mobilization, federal grant oversight, grant writing, public health research, program management, and compliance. She has successfully managed federal funding from the Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support five permanent supportive housing programs and added an additional 1.3 million dollars in grants to support expanded programming. She has her Bachelor of Science, Biology, from Xavier University of Louisiana and her Master of Public Health, Disease Control, from University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
