ESSO-EYSAC Hands-on Course on Thyroid Cancer Surgery

European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO)-ESSO Young Surgeons and Alumni Club (EYSAC) Hands-on Course on Thyroid Cancer Surgery is organized by European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and will be held from Dec 11 - 12, 2018 at Autonomous University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain. The target audience for this medical event is Young surgeons or surgical trainees interested in thyroid surgery.

Conference Description:
This conference is designed to cover the most recent advances in thyroid cancer therapy including methods of detection, treatment and research. Upon completion of the activity, learners should be able to discuss the latest thyroid cancer topics and describe how these advances can be applied to their practice. The meeting is an ideal opportunity for local and national experts to understand current national guidelines on thyroid cancer and update their knowledge about its investigation and treatment.

The program will consist of two parts. The first day participants and speakers will discuss the treatment options for Differentiated and Medullary Thyroid Cancer. The second day will be a hands-on cadaveric workshop that will cover the commonly used surgical techniques to deal with lateral neck dissection. A case-based discussion session will complete the program.

Conference Objectives:
• Management of low-risk thyroid cancer. One size does not fit all: selecting tumors for active surveillance or less aggressive surgery
• Prophylactic neck dissections in thyroid cancer, who benefit’s?
• New advances in the treatment of thyroid Cancer, minimally invasive, robotic and transoral surgery- indications and complications
