Mr. Radu Mihai graduating with MD from Carol Davilla University - Bucharest, Romania (1991), Mr. Mihai trained for 3 years in clinical endocrinology before embarking on a Ph.D. at Bristol University-UK (1995-1998). He completed his general surgical training working as a Lecturer in Surgery at Bristol University (1999-2005) and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of London (FRCS) in 2005. He then undertook a 24-month fellowship in Endocrine Surgery in Oxford before being appointed as a Consultant Endocrine Surgeon at Oxford Radcliffe Trust in 2007. Currently, he is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the British Association of Endocrine Surgeons (BAETS) and European Society of Endocrine Surgeons (ESES). He acts as a Surgical Specialty Lead for endocrine surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons.
Mr. Mihai is an examiner for the European Board in Endocrine Surgery and editor to the World Journal of Endocrine Surgery, He lectures on a regular basis on national and international courses, on topics related to endocrine surgery. Mr. Mihai’s research work on various topics in endocrine surgery led to the publication of over 50 peer-reviewed papers, 30 chapters in books, over 100 presentations to national and international meetings (details on www.radumihai.info) and has been rewarded by the Royal College of Surgeons with the title of Hunterian Professor of Surgery (2008).
