Emergency Medicine Update by University of Vermont Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education

Emergency Medicine Update is organized by University of Vermont Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education and will be held during Jan 29 - Feb 21, 2018 at Stowe Mountain Lodge, Stowe, Vermont, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is all emergency medicine professionals including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, emergency department nurses, pharmacists, trauma nurses, residents, and emergency medical technicians. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 22.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits for Physicians.

This event will discuss a variety of timely, practical issues that are encountered in the emergency department on a daily basis. Lectures will be engaging, sometimes controversial, and present the audience with examples of both successes and failures in emergency medicine. Changes don’t always equal advances and advancement doesn’t always mean change. At the end of this program, participants should be able to distinguish between advancement and change in the emergency department in a relaxed, family-oriented environment.

Conference Objectives:

• Learn new concepts in emergency management of diverse pediatric patient presentations.
• Be aware of concepts in identifying and treating patients presenting with toxidromes.
• Learn how the use of bedside ultrasound to enhance clinical patient care.
• Be more adept at management of common infectious disease presentations.
• Review the most current management of patients presenting with atrial fibrillation and GI bleeds.
• Learn new concepts in EM pharmacology including the pharmacological management of anaphylaxis and alcohol withdrawal.
• Have a better awareness of ethical patient care and personal stress management in EM practice.
