Faculty will present current methods and future trends in breast cancer detection and diagnosis. Digital breast tomosynthesis, ultrasound, and MRI will be discussed, as well as secondary screening techniques (abbreviated MRI, whole breast ultrasound, and molecular breast imaging) and screening controversies. Minimally invasive biopsies and new therapies will be reviewed. Current research and methods to include under-represented populations will be considered. This meeting will address breast cancer topics from a multidisciplinary point-of-view, presented by speakers from Europe, the United States, and Israel.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Discuss new diagnostic and interventional techniques in breast cancer management
• Explain the role of digital breast tomosynthesis
• Improve image-guided breast biopsy techniques
• Recognize the role of standard breast MRI for screening, diagnosis, and management
• Address the use of abbreviated breast MRI for intermediate risk screening
• Identify international trends in breast imaging utilization
• Describe primary and secondary screening modalities, including abbreviated breast
• MRI, molecular breast imaging, and whole breast ultrasound
• Explain emerging MRI (diffusion) and ultrasound (elastography) technologies
• Discuss the impact of artificial intelligence and deep learning in breast imaging
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
