Point-of-Care Testing Boot Camp and Beyond: Communicating, Connecting and Collaborating is organized by American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) and will be held on Dec 07, 2017 at Hilton Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America.
The target audience for this medical event is Point of Care (POC) Coordinators, POC Managers and Supervisors, POC Medical Directors, Lab Directors/Managers/Supervisors, Respiratory Therapist Managers and Supervisors, Nurse Managers and Supervisors, and others who perform and/or manage point-of-care testing in hospitals, clinics, physician offices, and other patient care settings. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 6.0 ACCENT credits.
Course Description :
Demand continues to grow for rapid diagnostics (point-of-care testing) making it necessary for more healthcare professionals to be trained, and in return train others, in point-of-care testing (POCT). This brand new event will focus on what you need to know to successfully communicate, connect, and collaborate with POCT staff and management successfully in any patient care setting.
Whether you are new to POCT or have worked in POCT for years, you will gain new and enhanced skills from attending this event. The conference will be taught by experts who have addressed the unique challenges and requirements associated with POCT.
This one-day program will feature interactive activities to help you practice with your colleagues and enable you to apply new tools in your work right away.
Learning Objectives :
After attending this event, you will be able to:
• Train and coach non-laboratory staff on POCT procedures in various types of healthcare settings
Employ techniques to encourage performance improvement and initiative to spot and troubleshoot problems
• Connect and foster ongoing channels of communication between POCT operator and training staff
Write policies and procedures that are easy to follow and to retain
• Collaborate with Information Technology team, centrao laboratory, and other resources to interface POCT devices
• Use strategic communication tools to inform multiple departments in your institution on POCT news and updates
• Ensure POCT operations and staff are prepared for inspections and aware of regulations and regulatory bodies (CLIA, COLA, CAP, Joint Commission, etc.)
