Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS) 13th Annual International Meeting is organized by Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS) and will be held during Dec 06 - 08, 2017 at The Fairmont Washington, Washington, Dist Of Col, United States of America. This CME conference has been approved for a maximum of 15.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Course Objectives:

• Describe international trends in practice related to the care of children with critical congenital heart disease.
• Analyze innovative approaches to care delivery for children with heart disease in a variety of clinical and geographical settings.

• Development of Drugs and Devices – From Conception to Market
• Describe logistical and regulatory challenges faced when developing/evaluating a new treatment for children with critical congenital heart disease.
• To compare and contrast differences in therapeutic development between medical/drug and medical devices for children with critical congenital heart disease.

• Identify how technology and next generation computing may impact patient care in the CICU and CICU research in the future.
• Describe the challenges and benefits of fundraising and device research in the current fast-paced technology world.
• Identify how patient post hospital management, fundraising for research, and device development are all interacting with new software or hardware platforms.

• Describe novel and resourceful approaches to rare, high risk presentations of critical congenital heart disease.

If You Weren’t Born with One, We will Build You One – MCS in Single Ventricle Patients (Advanced Strategies for the Failing Fontan):
• Describe clinical challenges with supporting the failing single ventricle.
• Review novel techniques emerging for mechanical support of the single ventricle circulation.

Beyond the Hunger Games –CICU as the Ultimate Team Sport:
• Describe the use of simulation to improve team performance.
• Recognize how team performance is perceived by the patient and family.
• Develop strategies for the CICU team to be morally resilient within a morally distressing environment.
