The 2016 Asia Pacific Stroke Conference to be held in sunny Brisbane on the east coast of Australia. The conference is jointly organised by the Asia Pacific Stroke Organisation (APSO) and the Stroke Society of Australasia (SSA), scheduled from 14 to 17 July 2016 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Brisbane, Australia.
The conference theme is "Extending access to stroke treatment". The theme is particularly relevant in the setting of a new era in the management of acute stroke involving reperfusion modalities of thrombolysis and endovascular thrombectomy in acute ischaemic stroke, and early physiological control including blood pressure lowering in acute intracerebral haemorrhage.
The conference is a 4-day program with plenary sessions, workshops and scientific abstract presentations pertaining to cutting edge research related to the wide range of manifestations and effects of stroke, including prevention, acute treatment, rehabilitation, recovery/resettlement, systems of care and basic sciences.
