OVERVIEW

AOTrauma Course - Advanced Principles of Fracture Management is organized by AOTrauma and would be held during Dec 04 - 09, 2016 at Davos Congress Centre, canton, Davos, Switzerland.

The target audience for this medical event are basically for surgeons on the threshold of becoming independent surgeons and taking over decision-making responsibility for the treatment of complex injuries. The goal of the course is to teach current concepts and fundamental principles in the treatment of complex injuries, incorporating the latest techniques in operative fracture management.

The course will be taught in a modular format. Each module consists of several evidence-based lectures, which will cover the key information required. Discussing cases in small groups will help participants understand decision-making and management skills. Debates and interactive sessions will promote interactivity between faculty and course participants. In practical exercises participants will be trained in the application of various techniques.

Learning Objectives :
• Demonstrate reduction techniques in fracture management.
• Recall the importance of soft tissues in fracture healing.
• Discuss techniques for treatment of complex diaphyseal fractures.
• Identify strategies for assessing and treating open fractures and soft-tissue injuries.
• Initiate appropriate management for patients with pelvic injuries and polytrauma.
• Recognize complications of fracture management and integrate appropriate management principles.
